Join us for an afternoon of Dream Box (!!!) making, including a dream awareness and listening workshop, to celebrate Martin Luther King’s Big Dream.

WHAT ARE DREAM BOXES?
Dream boxes are fanciful containers that are receptacles for dreams – they are placed at Dream Depots (cafes, galleries, and other public locations throughout the city). The boxes are created by dreamers of all ages from preschoolers to high school students to mature artists

Kingston Dream Depots – deposit a dream in a dream box at Radio Kingston, The DRAW Kingston, Fair John ArtSpace and Music Salon, Kingston City Hall, Zephyr Float, and more!

Worldwide dream boxes in London, Berlin, Paris, Eyeries Ireland and Geneva!

The Source of Self-Regard : Opening Reception

Event Description:

“The Source of Self-Regard” is a multi-disciplinary arts exhibition hosted by FreedomWalker Dickerson, and the idea garden. Named after a collection of essays, speeches, and meditations by the late Toni Morrison, the show’s intention is to hold space for and highlight the voices of women, femme, and nonbinary people of color. The show will feature both visual and performing artists and will run for 2 months at the idea garden in Kingston NY to coincide with both Black History Month Kingston and Women’s History Month Kingston.

Artists exhibiting include: Stephanie Alinsug, AJ Aremu, Sadee Brathwaite, Dorothy Brodhead, Cassandra D. Clarke, K.C. Clarke, Nile ‘River’ Clarke, Andie Clarkson, Freedom Walker, Courtney Haeick, IONEDahlia Jarrett, Naira Luke-Aleman, Mumba, Yvonne Rojas-Cowan, Toni Thomas, and Cynthia Timms
