Event Description:

Join us for a fun evening! Filmmaker Stephen Blauweiss will present clips from eight mostly lesser-known films, providing a brief description of each scene and its context, as well as interesting and funny behind-the-scenes anecdotes, followed by an 8-minute clip of each film. Blauweiss has had a deep interest in black culture throughout his life, with a particular focus on New York City, Harlem and jazz. In honor of Black History Month, he has chosen selections from American cinema in the 20th century that reflect a diverse range of depictions of black culture. Many of these are lesser-known films that anyone who enjoys movies will be happy to discover.
