Arrivals, a solo show by Artist & Advisor Sadee Brathwaite features new work created over the course of her three month residency at the idea garden. The pieces are a personal exploration of what it means to arrive at a new location, a new destination, a new state of being, a new awareness. Referencing the idea of coming into deeper realizations personally and historically, and examining Brathwaite’s own relationship to being a black, female, Caribbean born immigrant, the work touches upon the themes of colonialism, immigration, home, community and spirituality.

All art in the show is available for purchase, with all proceeds going directly to the artist (as always, the idea garden does not charge artists any fees to show their work). We were thrilled to provide space for the residency and if you feel called to do so, a gift to the artist can be made through Venmo @Sadee-Brathwaite.
