Description:
Learning new ways and skills to make art with and teaching those ways and skills was not an easy thing in the 2020-21 pandemic school year. First, we all had to learn how to learn and how to teach in this new remote way…we had a bit of practice in spring 2020 but this time around we were all determined to be better at it. We distributed and delivered art supplies. Using the document camera, recording demonstrations and lessons, asking students to hold up their art to the computer screen camera to share their progress throughout lessons, and managing to have class critiques to give each other feedback, some students returned splitting classes into two hybrid parts- somehow, it all happened.
Our student artists were resourceful, hardworking, and fearless despite the many challenges.
