The Homeless Project: Last Night For Dinner {Performances and Discussions}

Event Description:

Rise Up Kingston presents The Homeless Project : “Last Night for Dinner” as a way for individuals who are considered invisible in the eyes of society to have their voices heard through this Art Project. The title “Last Night for Dinner” is universal because everyone sits down to eat a meal at the dinner table but not everyone can sit down to eat a full meal at the table. The concept of using placemats is a simple ornament most people take for granted. The placemats are the words and images of human beings who are experiencing homelessness or housing crises.

The exhibit is also offering an opportunity for artist who are experiencing homelessness or a housing crises a chance to get their art work sold.

The exhibit will be opening July 6th, and will be available all month at Idea Garden! July 20th will have performers & speakers. More details to come.

UPDATE:  Here is a Radio Kingston livestream of the July 20th event.
